Before I start a longer story about recent Germany trip, wanted to share some pictures from Reeperbahn and the neighbourhood around. For all who know something about Hamburg, Reeperbahn is a place which lives at night, inviting you to give in to all possible sins. Clubs, bars, strip-shows, sex-shops and room-by-hour hotels are raging as it’s getting dark. But how it looks like as the dawn breaks?

A bit creepy, actually.

Wasted people are already home huddling under the blankets, and devastated streets are huddling under heavy fog. Lonely road sweepers and people, who are lucky to live and work there, are emerging and disappearing again.

The Beatles, who performed here, at Grosse Freiheit, don’t mind if it’s foggy. It may remind them on their hometown 🙂

Hard to believe that these places are so bright and lively at night.

Having passed St. Pauli metro, I follow the road to Landungsbrücke. The river Elbe is invisible, sleeping under tons of fog.

After several minutes in metro I approach Hamburg city hall. It feels like it’s also sleeping with its feet poking out of blanket.

But finally, here comes the sun! And I almost hear The Beatles singing from Die Grosse Freiheit: “…it’s alright!” 🙂
