A trip to Minsk to 34MediaDay appeared to be quite enlightening for me. Even though I am a frequent traveler and try not to let the stereotype squeeze into my mind, there was something to discover for me. And something to apologize for. I really felt like apologizing for not understanding how close the Belarussians are to me and all Ukrainians. It was so worth going there, and I want to come back. You know why?
Israel didn’t come down on me as a huge wave of sun, old stories and warm air, as I used to imagine before. It didn’t tempt me to give up everything and immediately move there. Our first encounter in Ben Gurion Internatinal Airport felt like a business meeting: hi, how are you, welcome, here is the exchange, here is taxi, here are the shuttles, 64 shekel, you are welcome. In Jerusalem the feeling gets warmer: in a cozy neighbourhood with not very cozy name “German Colony” I am really welcome by the mother of my friend Naomi. She is feeding me,
In 2016 I had the opportunity to cooperate with the Israeli channel TV2 – they asked me to help them with special dishes that are certainly worth a try, once you travel to Tbilisi. My list was quite long, and not all of my favourite dishes and restaurants were included in the program in the end, so I decided to share my tips here. Forgive me, my meat loving friends, but the food I am talking about is totally non-meaty. However, I’m sure you won’t regret following some of my tips. Let’s go explore the culinary scene of Tbilisi!
For the second time I return from Kazakhstan full of thoughts, which are hardly transferable to a text. The country is definitely unusual. Huge. Different. I haven’t seen too much, but on the other hand, how many of you have been to Kazakhstan at all? So I will share my ideas, and who knows – maybe you’ll get inspired for a visit!
If you are coming to Karlovy Vary, you must be either having problems with digestion or looking for the real peace (and boredom) inside. Or, as it happened to me, you can be visiting friends, who settled down there. Because of those lovely people I decided to spend a small part of my vacation in one the biggest towns of Czech Republic with 50.000 people living there. The town itself is really toy-like. Surrounded by mountains, oozing with mineral waters, it used to host many celebrities from Giacomo Casanova and Otto von Bismark to Leo Di Caprio. The only time when Karlovy Vary loses its
In winter 2014-2015 I used to make up a list of place where you can warm yourself up with mulled wine / glintwein. Even though there were plenty of wineries all around Old Tbilisi, as I decided to go for a short glintwein check, it appeared that not all of them prepare the drink. Nevertheless, after several walking sessions, one of which made me quite drunk in the end, I offered you a Glintwein Route through the old city. In November 2015, as the weather become a bit unpleasant, I decided to double check my list. Here is the result!
I keep on talking about things you should know about Georgia before traveling to here. Even if you love spontaneity, better read something in advance. In the first part I explained some basic things about the transport system in bigger Georgian towns and getting from point ა to point ბ. Now it’s time to speak up about some other issues that matter.
As I moved to Tbilisi in 2013, I was always wondering how my friends were able to eat in international restaurants of Tbilisi. Seriously, having such a great national cuisine, how dare you!.. That’s what I was saying. Now, in September 2015, I gonna share with you some addresses, where you can get delicious food from different corners of our big world. Sorry, khinkali, but everyone needs a break from time to time. All the recommendations are based on my experience and taste only. Still wondering what is good for a 25 y.o. vegetarian? Follow me then.
